When God created the first man and woman, He placed them in a garden that contained peaceful animals and fruit-bearing trees that were pleasant to the eye. God said that all He created was “good,” and these things were meant to give His children pleasure. Even after Adam and Eve sinned and were evicted from the Garden of Eden, their new harder life still afforded them some pleasure. Ecclesiastes 3:13 tells us, “…every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God” (KJV). Clearly, God desires our continual happiness.
