“Pollyanna’s” are often misunderstood - thought to have an unrealistic take on everyday life. But, they are not grinning idiots, unaware of the suffering among their neighbors. Rather, they are those who choose to give thanks in all things. It is their optimism and grateful attitude that make them strong. Yes, life will often deal us a bad hand, but the Spirit of the LORD is near to comfort us. So, as Psalm 32:11 says, “Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.” This is living in the knowledge of what God has done for us. And this is how we show the world that the life in Christ we now enjoy is as appealing as it is real.
