Yielding might best be illustrated by the relationship between a dentist and a patient. The only way this relationship can work is if the patient cooperates with the dentist, allowing whatever work is necessary. Yielding to God has far greater benefits than the dentist can offer, but likewise involves some discomfort. Before we can open ourselves to receive everything God has for us, we must first trust Him. Doubtless, yielding allows the ultimate connection with God, but there are many roadblocks that prevent us from yielding and receiving God’s blessings.
