There are several important lessons we can learn from Abraham’s life. First, we learn that God sometimes tests those He loves. In Genesis 22:1 we read “Now it came to pass...that God tested Abraham...” God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. The nature of that test was completely beyond Abraham’s understanding, yet he chose to trust God. We must understand that a test from God is not punishment, rather a sign of His love for us. A second lesson we can learn from Abraham is that God’s people choose to either accept or reject His testing. What will you choose?
