A person may look the part of a Christian, but unless he or she is willing to forsake the former life of sin, the appearance of a new life is a sham that can hurt all within that person's influence. God gives every one who comes to Him with a willing heart the grace and power to overcome their past and the temptations that would pull them back. We have to get serious about His call and allow Him to propel us into freedom from our former condition.
