There are far too many Christians who live in a state of perpetual guilt because they are failing in their attempt to live they way they know they should. Prior to the church age, people who believed in God trusted in the LAW to save them. While the LAW was good and was supposed to help, it left people dead to God in their sin.

Because no matter how hard people tried, they kept failing in their attempt to keep the LAW. So, Paul states a subtle truth about the LAW...It wasn’t given to make us perfect, but to bring us to the one who was perfect. The answer to living a life of freedom is to live in Jesus... and walk according to the Spirit.
