A flashpoint is the point at which eruption into significant action occurs. Here, we use the word to paint a vivid picture of what happens when the infectious love of God comes into contact with a soul that has been dried up by the harshness of life.
We see people meeting Jesus and suddenly dropping whatever it is they are doing, even their very livelihoods and occupations, to follow him, and we discover that rarely, if ever, is a life left the same after meeting him. Jesus is a walking flashpoint: He is simply irresistible. We need to ask ourselves, after we’ve been changed by meeting Jesus, are we now having an effect on our community? Or, have we diminished our flashpoint potential by isolating ourselves from lives we should be touching with Jesus’ grace and power? This individual topic can be used alone or as part of the series: "Flashpoint." Running time approx. 16 min.
