A flashpoint is the point at which eruption into significant action occurs. Here, we use the word to paint a vivid picture of what happens when the infectious love of God comes into contact with a soul that has been dried up by the harshness of life.
If a follower of Christ is growing properly, he or she will increase in compassion for spiritually off-track people. To gain wisdom and knowledge – even to demonstrate character growth through worship and service are not enough if we lack tenderness toward lost people. We must continually pray for the leading of God’s Spirit and be willing to be used in that particular “mission field” He calls us to, which could be no further away than the houses on our own street.
