The apostle James gave this warning about the tongue: “…the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity…” When Jesus spoke, He cast a positive vision for people with His words. A woman who was caught in the act of adultery was brought to him, and when he exposed the hypocrisy of her accusers, none of them stayed to condemn her. Jesus knew what she had done, but also knew what her repentant heart was capable of, so he told her, “…Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more" (John 8:11). With this in mind, let me ask, are you speaking words of life or words of death? Do your words bring healing to spirits or do you wound them?
