Psalm 103 says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits.” Some people don’t follow Jesus because they think there are few benefits to serving God in this life. They claim it doesn’t pay to live for God because “You can’t do this” and “You can’t do that.” In a small way, these folks are right, because Jesus doesn’t want us doing things that amuse our flesh but harm our spirit or other people. Overwhelmingly, however, they are wrong, because there is great reward in serving God!
